I want to encourage people to speak proper Japanese so that they can communicate with Japanese people. And hey, after all Japanable.com is a "communication" site, I will focus on speaking Japanese.
Here is what I am planning to do:
- Present you with a useful expression along with an explanation and example
- I will attach samples written with Japanese characters, which your email will be able to read if it supports HTML (if you don’t mind not seeing these Japanese characters, you can still read the rest of the newsletter with plain text email)
- This is a weekly newsletter, I am thinking to send it every Sunday (this might change in the future or there might be the occasional delay, but I will try my best)
In the process of learning Japanese, of course grammar is important, but I am not planning to teach grammar lessons so much. So if you are looking for detailed grammar lessons, I am sorry that this newsletter is not for you.
My focus is to present you with a useful Japanese expression that Japanese people would use in their natural conversations. In this way, you can gain one expression each week. Even though that seems to be a slow pace, it will give you the time to learn it well, use it and make it yours.
As you probably know, we don’t really use "textbook" Japanese in everyday speech. Language is alive and, fortunately or unfortunately, it keeps changing. I will present you with today’s Japanese as we actually use it.
And also, if you have a specific question about Japanese expressions I can answer that and share it in the newsletter, so please feel free to email me.
I won’t make my newsletter "boring school work" or a "serious, serious learning course". The concept of my lesson is "easy going" and "no pressure" so be relaxed and have fun. I will try to make each lesson such that you can read through it in a minute or two.
If you want to learn "alive" and "updated" Japanese and agree with my concept, please join me and let me help you with a bit of Japanese learning. If you have friends who are also eager to learn Japanese, please introduce this page to them!
Looking forward to seeing you in my lesson!
Regards,
Tsunami
